Just so you know that will not even be close to a 1200watt system. What amp are you looking at, and where are you getting the subs and for how much. You can get 2-12" assasins from www.ascendantaudio.com. These would crush anything from sony, they would sound better, and there only 75 a piece right now. Im pretty sure fryman, paul or any of the other members would agree on this.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

You won't need a new alternator. SUVs have to have strong ones cuz they typically run a lot of electronics & such (it may be carlike, but it's still a truck). Don't buy sony either. just about everyone i know that's gotten sony subs paid no more than 100 bucks new and used and they all blew within a month and a half. Home audio is their forte IMO.

don't get me wrong, it's still crap, but i consider it better compared to their car audio.
