Tonight my wife and I were driving by our local MB dealership and someone traded a beautiful Gold coloured 1994 BMWiL. 50,000 Km...not miles. The asking price is approximately $26,000 Canadian dollars.
My question? What questions should I ask? What should I check for? How much should I pay? As well, we pay approximately .80/litre for premium gasoline. What will my monthly gas bill be if I drive 500 km/week? Any and all responses are more than appreciated. |

I am not sure how much $26,000 in canada is compaired to US. I bought a 93 740i with 100,000 miles for $12,000 in US. What you need to check is tires, intieror are two major things. If the inside is really nice and new or slight worn tires with no odd wearing usally means the car was treated right. I would test drive the car and listen for any noises. Pull off slow and fast and feal the trany. Test all the gears. You should ask how many oweners did it have. The other thing is check online what other 94 740il's are selling for in your area. Open the hud and check for a dirty engine and any oil leaks, rewraped wires or re routed wires. If everything looks original it should be a good car. Last thing check for any body work like nonpainted fender bolts could mean it was in an accident. Hope that helps.
Ken p.s. check edmunds.com for you car specs and fuel consumption. |
