98 Grand caravan stumbling when pedal pressed quickly...Code 12
My 98 Grand caravan sometimes has a problem when pressing the accelerator fast. Sometimes it will rev fine, and increasingly it will stumble, and not hit on all cylinders, like it is flooding or something, and when you let off the accelerator it runs fine again. If you ease into it it doesn't happen. It has died on my wife several times at stop lights, and does it on startup on occasion. The check engine light is not on. The timing belt, plug wires, and plugs are all new. Any clues on what to check? Cam sensor? MAP sensor TPS?? Thanks for any help. I cycled the key 3 times to get any codes, and there is a code 12.
edit: Also the engine is a 3.0 V6. Last edited by TravRMK; 06-25-2006 at 03:38 PM. |

Re: 98 Grand caravan stumbling when pedal pressed quickly
Well, I figured out code 12 means nothing but the battery was disconnected within the last 50 key turns. Anyone have any ideas??

Re: 98 Grand caravan stumbling when pedal pressed quickly
I checked the EGR valve by aplying vaccum to the top vaccum hose while idling, and the van stumbles and dies, which means it is working correctly. What else should I check?
