im very new to crx's and i just recently bought an 86' crx hf.... the engine needs alittle work but im not interested in the original engine... i have a neighbor that says i can put a 88-91 integra ls engine in it and that should make it alot faster.... are there any sugguestions on what engines i should look into?
i just want to appologize to all of you out there that actually know what you are talking about... i realize questions like these are repeated over and over and over.... and get real old real quick.... |

Re: new to crx's
Here you go,all the info is in this link. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=199192 Your neighbour is correct, you need wiring mods or harness change with the later teg you mention, earlier teg unit needs no mods due to no advanced timing.Just plug in the teg ECU.All your suspension and brakes can be upgraded from the donor teg too.
Welcome to the board... |

Re: new to crx's
You said it's an 88-91 Integra motor, but between these years there were two different body styles and two entirely different motors. Please clarify if you are planning to use an 86-89 motor or a 90-93 motor.
The 86-89 Integra motor is a D16A1 and all the swap info is in the link provided in the previous post. The D16A1 is essentially a bolt in swap, but you will need to set your car up to run a fuel injected motor. The 90-93 Integra motor is a B-series and they are not a direct bolt in. You will need items such as custom mounts and custom axles etc. These parts can add up pretty quick, expect to pay about $1,500 just in custom parts (not including the motor/tranny).
