Receiver hitch on 2003-2005

Has anyone installed a receiver hitch on a 2003-2005 LS? I would like to install one on mine, but the application guides mention that the bumper cover must be trimmed to install. I am just looking for a 1 1/4 square receiver to use with my bicycle carrier. I already have the carrier, and getting a trunk mount bicycle carrier is out of the question for several reasons.

I'd like to know how much of the bumper cover needs to be trimmed, and if the receiver hitch hangs below the bumper cover level (and therefore is prone to dragging over speed bumps, etc.).

My wife has a 2002 LS6 and according to the fit guide, there is no trimming necessary to install the receiver on her car. I compared the rear fascia on my 2004 with her 2002 and the only real difference I notice between the two is the lower fascia on the 2004 is deeper (ie: covers closer to the spare tire well on a horizontal plane). I therefore suspect that the trimming is not so much visible trimming, but rather trimming to allow the assembly to tuck in between the spare tire well and the bumper cover.

That looks like the same spec sheet from the hiddenhitch.com hitch i was looking at. Says the same for your 04, some trimm needed. Though the pics look different, its the same specs.
