91 Caprice question

I know im prob out of line for saying this but i was just wondering.
I own a 91 Caprice and most likely a hand full of you know this.
My friend owns a early to late 80's chevy camaro rs with the 305.
Now i was wondering if there were any way to put out enough power from my 305 to possibly beat his car? I know it's like 2500pounds lighter giver or take a few pounds but for sum reason i want to show the people around here that the caprice can actually beat those "muscle Cars" and im sure people have done some sick mods to make this happen . but for a novice i need some help.

So if anyone has any ideas to what i could do to make this car get up and go =)
