I have a 2000 Gm and have a problem with one remote not operating all the time,is there a module of some sort that could go bad or weak that could cause problems. If I lock the car with the door switch when leaving and open the doors with th remote the car will sometimes not start and a clicking sound can be heard and untill the clicking sound stops the car will not start .My second remote works ok and both remotes have new batteries.
This car has the original battery in it and still starts fine. |

Re: security system
Did you try cleaning the battery connectors inside of the remote? If one remote works and not the other, it's a remote problem and nothing else. If that does not work the remote may have a bad switch. In that event you might want to try ebay for another remote. You will have to program the new remote to the car before it will work.

Re: security system
I have a 99 MGM and the Security System, door locks, and remotes all just quit working one day. I have checked the Circuit breaker under the dash (this circuit does not have a fuse) and it is good. I even replaced it as well, still no luck. Is there another fuse link or something that I have missed? Unsuall for all of it to go out at one time. This is really worrying me and i surely hate to go to a Dealer to have them just replace a fuse link or set a reset to make it work again. Thanks
