Making a Mold...
Hey,
What is the best way to go about making a mold of an object? Working on making a new stereo surround but just need to figure out the best way for a good mold. Mike |

Clean it, make sure its not going to react with the resin your going to be using, apply mold release, gelcoat if you like (if its a one time mold I usually dont gelcoat), then lay your fiberglass up on it, let it cure, pop it off, polish the inside, mold release, lay your fiberglass up in it, let it cure, pop it out. voila...

Oh ok, that is kind of how I figured I would do it just wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
Happen to know the best place to get the materials? I know walmart even sells resins and fiberglass but unsure if it's mostly the same or if there is resins out there better than others. Mike |
