Lumina '99 break problem

hi, my lumina wasn't stoppin' very well, so i thoght that the break pump was broke and i replace it. After install the new pump i still have the same problem. I have to push the pedal to the floor to stop. Somebody plz help me !!!!!!

are you losing fluid somewhere? by pump you mean master cylinder, right? the thing under the hood, on the drivers side? If you did replace the master cylinder, did you remember to bleed the whole brake system?

Yes, that part the master cylinder. Actually I don't see any leakage.
When I installed the master cylinder I bleed it but the problem still.
I'm open to any suggerence, Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!

bleed it again, start with the wheel farthest fron the master cylinder. sometimes they need to be bled like 3 times, and also, i havn't had to do it on my car yet, so im not for sure, but you may need a tech 2 scan tool to command abs valves open if you have abs

Hey you know what?, tha problem was the new master cylinder it came damage, as soon as install another one the brake system work perfectly.

yeah, sometimes the remanufactured ones dont hold pressure either, glag i could help ya out.
