Question tire question

i currently have 235-55-16 size tires on the back. if i bought 245-50-16, would i have a bigger gap between the tire and fender, or would it come out the same? thanks

Re: tire question

yes you would have a bigger gap...the first set of numbers is for the width of the tire the next number is the height of the sidewall then the last number is the size of the rim

hmmm, ok. i thought that the 2nd number was the sidewall height as a percentage of the width or something. but that sucks though because 245-55-16 tires are nonexistent!

Re: tire question

there is only a 5 mm difference in the size. go for the wider tire even though they are "smaller" the width of a credit card is about 2-2.5 mm thick you can't notice it unless you use a ruler!

**edit**
245* 50%= 122.5mm
235* 55%= 129.25mm
There is the math.
