Exclamation another question on engine swaps

ok this is probably the 1millionth thread asking about swaps but oh well, the last hatch i owned i bought pre-riced, race exhaust, cai, nuespeed suspension, braced up, lights, etc. it wa really fun but super slow with the stock d15b2

there's a matrix on www.jspecauto.com that says a d16zc should drop directly into my 91 hatch, with just the engine????? i would guess id need new mounts right?

im not lookin to add gobs of power, i dont drag race and im not hittin a track ne time soon, just looking for the 120-150 hp range i can get with the zc swap. any help???????

yep, the ZC will bolt in. Use ur stock mounts/axles/blah blah blah. Get an Si tranny if you can. Also, it would be better for power if you swapped to mpfi. Look it up.

yep huge help with the mpfi swap. so are we talking about a dohc zc or a sohc zc? vtec or no? sorry just want to know. if its a dohc you will need to depin 2 wies from the distributor plug for the cam angle sensor but that is east as pie. everthing else should plug right in.

as long as it's an Si, everything will plug in. But it doesn't appear so because he mentioned "d15b2".

Re: another question on engine swaps

ok so the mpfi is just a resistor box right? i found one for sale from an 88 crx, it said something about a green wire, will that work?

also, i dont really know on the dohc or sohc yet, ive heard good results from both, but as long as i can get into my poer range which one would be easier to find, swap in etc.?

lastly, would i be able to use my stock tranny until i could pick one out of an si? i have a lift and cherry picker at my disposal so taking everything out once for the motor and again l8er on for the tranny wouldnt be a big deal.

but thanks you guys are alot of help, im not really a newbie when it comes to cars, and tuning, just when it comes down to specifics, and all the different hookups,

why cant everything be as easy as my dads 66 chevelle??

Re: another question on engine swaps

You would need to convert your harness to MPFI..there are plenty of writeups on it, just do a little searching and youll find everything you need, Im sure Bambam is right about to tell you about his conversion as well..haha.

lol...good call.
I'm just trying to promote man!
You have to use your stock harness. It has to be modified and rewired. You either have to do it yourself, or have someone that know's what they're doing, do it for you.
You're in luck because guess what? I'm that person that know's what they're doing.

because this is fuel injection, that's why.

The mpfi is not just a resistor box. It's a lot of rewiring. Either search for "mpfi" on google...or save yourself the trouble and have me do the harness.
