Re: 95 mustang GT

If you're talking about 94-98's everyone has there own preference on 5.0's and 4.6's but I personaly prefer 5.0's. But stock there performance is pretty bad, auto's run around mid 15's. And I'm 90% sure they put AODE tranny's in 95 GT auto's, there not horrible but there definatly not the greatest.

They are a heavier car with less power than the 87-93 fox cars if I remember correctly. That wouldnt matter to me but then again, I dont leave anything stock. The auto tranny in just about every mustang I have driven has been a slush box. They are a good tranny, but not a racing tranny. A shift kit, stall converter, gears, exhaust, and H/C/I would make for a really fun car though. I've been thinking about building a 94-98 for a race only car. They are good all around cars, just depends on personal preferance.

Re: 95 mustang GT

If it were me I'd try to find a 5spd. I prefer the 5.0 because there so much easier to work on. But like stated it is a matter of personal preference.

Re: 95 mustang GT

I am an owner of a 95 GT with 115000 miles. No major problems to date, although my auto tranny is showing signs of needing a rebuild. The car has been super dependable. This is the last year they made the old pushrod 5.0. There are a thousand of upgrade parts for this car so don't be ashamed by the posts about it being underpowered. An upgrade her and there will get you moving!

Re: 95 mustang GT

I can't speak for the auto, but the manual is OK. My friend has a 95 manual and when he bought it, the car had bad rings and still managed a 14.9 on his first time ever down the quartermile.

Re: 95 mustang GT

They are the slugs on the bunch with the 145hp V6 being the only thing slower... but a built 327 and a nice came with good heads, and you have a monster... and get rid of them damn 3.08's or 2.73's gears out back...

Re: 95 mustang GT

As far as a daily driver it's great, solid and dependable.

But it's slower than a beached whale carrying a fatass hippo on it's wide back. If it's an AODE then you better add the weight of a giraffe to it LOL.

It takes H/C/I, Full Exhaust and Gears to make them be able to keep up with stock Camaros/Firechickens.

AEM WB02, Minor tunes, running pig rich. No clue as to RWHP feels a tad faster than a stock 05 GT.
