2.4 engine swap

I have a 99 sunfire SE and im buying a used 2.4 sunfire GT motor off a friend for $100 and it comes with the transmision starter and everything it needs to run. Im going to have it completely rebuilt from the ground up and i was wondering how hard it would be and how much it would cost to have this done?

Well on how hard it is.... if you’re asking, you more then likely don’t have the tools or knowledge to do it... needless to say, it is far from easy.

As for how much it will cost.... that depends on how extreme you want to get.

You could spend anywhere from 2000 dollars for the engine alone up to 20 or 30,000 grand for an extreme strip engine. (A top fuel dragster has more then 200,000 in the engine alone)

A tranny should cost between 1500 to 3000 again depending on how extreme you want to get.
