Intermitant passenger side window
just checkin to see if anyone else has had any problems with there pasenger side windows. Sometimes it will work sometimes it won't, it's really tempramental

GM power window motors have a thermal limiting switch built in. When the window operation gets like that it is a possibility. Especially sensitive to heat and cold. If the motor has a high current draw due to possible binding or just flaking out the limiter will trip and cut off motor power. And then the windows will start working for a while.
Basically, it is an automatic resetting solid state device called a PTC. Positive Temperature Coefficient. It is a circuit breaker in the form of a thermistor (thermal resistor). The thermistor increases resistance as the temperature increases and vice versa as the temperature decreases. A PTC is used to protect the power window motor in the event of binding, high current draw, etc.
