Debating on next mods.

I have an 89 s10 4x4 tbi blazer with about 112,000 miles on it. I just had the rear rebuilt, now have a 3.42 posi, replaced everything down to the lug studs. I just put and exhaust on it, im looking into headers and welding my own piping from there. David gates will be custom making a shift kit for the trans in about a month, he claims another one he did on a s10 could snatch second with a dead cylinder. Im also looking into getting a jet chip, an then later dyno tuning.

Now my next "ideas" are to either buy vortec heads, manifold and ecm and do that. Or is there another way i could get a manifold with direct fuel managemant (one injector per cylinder) or should i just keep the tbi. I can get stuff for good prices and any machine work i can do my self. Im trying to get some more power out of the engine without replacing the whole engine. I was also thinking if it comes down to tearing the engine out id be looking into a 94-95 s10 engine to keep it obd1.

Any feedback would be great.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: Debating on next mods.

I've got the 4.10 gears that you really need Including the full front diff, and a factory installed locker on the rear diff, that way you can run the 33" tires that you really want and have power to boot.

How about a v8 swap, DMBrisket claims that he's still getting 20 mpg on his V8 (although it's a 2wd)

Re: Debating on next mods.

I wanted the 4.10's but i wanted to keep stock ratio for the 4wd aspect.

Yes this is another fine lowered 4x4. dont start with the hate mail i get it everytime.

I thought about the v8 swap only problem is if i go v8 im going to want more, thats why im trying to keep to the v6. When i say more it got to the point where i bought a used 454 block, heads, manifold and a 750 carb. I could have put it in but i sold what i had. And i want to pull a 14 out of the little 4.3, i like sleepers. Even though a v8 s10 is a sleeper when they see a little v6 they think shit that cant do anything.

I don't frown on people that lower their vehicles as long as they do the job properly.

I'm doing a v8 swap, but mine's diesel, which should really mess with peoples minds

Thats going to be interesting. Should be strong motor, you cant beat a diesel when it coms to torque and towing. Let alone the fact they can push them into the 13's with just an exhaust, intake and tuner.
