'96 Jetta TREK, Stereo Help

ok so here's my spiel.

i have recently bought a '96 Jetta TREK at 95k miles, the first day i had it FLAWLESS, luved it.. 2.0 Litre Engine, Manual 5-spd

it needs a major overhaulin on the engine, the woman i bought it from did not do a tune up in over 2 years, so that and the rear wheel bearings need to be replaced, i bought the car dirt cheap so i have the money for these repairs..

but yesterday, the engine light came on, didn't turn off until later in the evening, didn't go cruisin' in it just in case...

everytime you open the door the sound goes off ya ya ya

now, after the engine light finally turned off, was an emissions evaporation thingy, so i tightened my gas cap, the alarm now, does not turn on when you open the door, and my radio goes into anti-lock mode once the car is started...

now if you just turn the key over to do all that jazz, the alarm comes on, stereo works fine, just when you turn the car on it puts the stereo into anti-lock mode, the red blinking light next to the red-key...

it's a Premium Audio Stereo, with a Clarion 6CD-Changer in the trunk...

any ideas would help, or i will just have the mechanic see what he can do..

Der Talon

PS - Thanks
