Ignition

Can someone tell me if the ignition switch on a 2000 gmc jimmy is bad or is going bad if that could cause the battery to run down and make it hard to start

Re: Ignition

Thank you for your information I think after just doing some reserach on my car and talking to a gentleman that I work with he has maybe come to the conclusion that my alternater is working just enough to keep keep the battery charged does that sound like something that is possible to you. Also on my batter is the green eye is still lit up doesnt that mean that it is still good

advanced auto parts will test the charging system if you ask 99% of the time. also autozone will test it in or out of the system. does sound like the altermator, but make sure the replacement has a new rectifier, as the alternator may be marginal, but a bad rectifier will not send enough charge back to the battery.

Re: Ignition

Check to make sure all your connections are tight. My 2001 went dead on me. No start. I cleaned up all the connections and tighted them back up and not a problem since. This was the last week in June.
