why 4-5-1?

Why go with the 4-5-1? its not like there was a difficult midfield situation anymore. mastroeni was out and obrien was out. START A FRICKING 4-4-2!!! the team went all through qualifying in the 4-4-2 and they are 10x more comfortable in that formation. landon donovan did squat today and it is because he doesnt feel comfortable in the 4-5-1. the fact that we started in that formation pissed me off before the game and pisses me off more now. i mean its not like that formation worked against the czechs .

Yeah that was fucked up and so was the PK and WHY wait so long to put in Eddie Johnson. We NEEDED 2 goals, he should have started the 2nd half.

actually what i said from day 1 is that i wanted to see mcbride and ching start up top in a 4-4-2. while you may think that sounds retarded at first, that type of combination worked quite well at fulham. it provides unique challenges for opposing defences. i also said clint dempsey or pat noonan should start on the right wing, i was right. i also said bocanegra should start, i was right. however i was wrong in that i didnt think onyewu should have started, he proved himself to be a very high quality player.

Bruce Arena showed his idiotic coaching ideas from the very beginning. Everything from poor formations, to putting in the wrong players in teh wrong positions, or keeping the right players from entering the game until too late, and not to mention bashing his players on international television. I mean come on, everybody knew they played poorly, but man up, take some freaking responsibility, act like a coach and inspire the talent, don't beat them up more over a poor showing.
He's done great things in the past for US soccer, but I personally hope he doesn't do a damn thing for them in the future.
