performance?

I was just wondering what some of you with bolt on's on your neon run in the 1/4 mile or about how fast you think the car will do.

Re: performance?

I haven't gotten my current SOHC car to the track, but it's probably in the mid 14 range...I hope anyway. A stock DOHC MTX can run mid 15's w/a good driver.

Re: performance?

that is pretty bad ass, I had no idea that there was such a big aftermarket for neons and can get into the mid 14's with bolt ons. Thanks for the info das2123.

It is pretty big with companies like Modern Performance and Howell Automotive leading the way for aftermarket support. There are a few smaller companies that add to it also.

Re: performance?

as i sit now, im mid 12's on streets. when teh bigger snail goes on, i should be high11's on street tires.

for the record here guys, street tires are NOT drag radials, or even super stick tire, just my average daily driver tires

Re: performance?

would love to get some pics but its torn apart cause brother shattered the gears in my tranny when i let him race it. He is the one that snaps the axle's and shreads my clutch and burns the tires up but i will admit that he was the one that set the time in the 1/8 mile. but right now its in pieces and i cant work on it do to some money issues at the moment. and hopefully it wont get repo'd from my brothers house when he gets evictedd

Re: performance?

launching at 5k with drag slicks grabbed the right amount of traction and the next thing we saw was smoke from him snappin the axles and puncturing the oil pan
