AC rebuild kit?
I was talking to one of the guys at work and we got on the topic of AC. Since it was over 100 today.
And he said that I could buy a AC rebuid kit instead of replacing the AC pump. Is this true? Because I can't just lay out 400 dollars for a new one and I kinda need one when I go to Florida in a week. It leaks oil, badly. That's the problem I have with it now. Anyone have any ideas? |

Re: AC rebuild kit?
Unless you have the proper tools , I doubt you'll ever be able to rebuild it with any success.
For instance, one of the first things your going to need is an AC Clutch Puller/installation tool. |

Re: AC rebuild kit?
The guy that I work with, his brother has a shop and he said he would get me in there so we could work on it.
I just like to know if it would work to just rebuild it or replace it. |

I do not replace many front seals anymore. Labor time and sometimes they do not hold and many times the compressers have other problems. A good quality rebuilt compresser is usually the best way out. You can go to the AC-kits link and get a lot of info on it. Good luck MT.
