well, you could probably find out from your cop shop, but it's a big no-no unless it's a show car, just having a light bar (at least here) constitutes "imitating an emergency vehicle"

A guy at work has an eclipse hes turning into a police car for show. I had no idea that they had stores in town where you could buy police equipment, thanks.

its not illegal to HAVE wig-wags, its just illegal to USE them, just like having nitrous. I think though having a lightbar on top of you car is illegal, just casue its there and people can see it.

when you buy those sorts of lights they usually come with a little warning that says "for off road use only". this means that unless you hvae a liscense to use them you can only turn them on when not on public roads. otherwise, haveing them on your car is perfectly legal (however ugly).

the fuzz will still harass you thou, even if your not breaking any laws. If they see an eclipse or whatever drive by with a lightbar they're gonna say "I didn't just see that..." and proceed to pull you over for BS reasons (like they do to normal cars )

It's legal to have emergency lights, but not a big lightbar on your car if you have a license for them. I'm getting my license for them soon, cause i'm a volunteer firefighter. You just need to be over 18, pass fire 1, and be 2nd class, in the department that i'm in. Blue is fire department, red/blue is police, and i'm not sure what white is. Amber lights are just warning lights and i'm pretty sure you don't need a license to have them.
