Re: starting problems

If your having to give it gas It sounds like maybe fuel problem but I don't know why the heat would have anything to do with it. You might check your plugs to see if they are wet in this situation. Its possible that you have to mash the pedal to get more air in there because of extra fuel. Or maybe your engine coolant sensor is wigging out and your lean.
Does it idle fine after start up?
If you pull a plug to look for wet or lean situation you might also check for fire at that time to rule out electrical.

Re: starting problems

I have the same kind of problem with my 328i '00. It starts fine in the morning but after it sits in the heat for a while, maybe about 2 hrs I have to hold the ignation key for more than 10 sec before it starts. It idles just fine after starting. I have used strong injector cleaners and valve cleaners from BAVAUTO.com. I have always serviced it on time after every 3k miles though my BMW service says that i can go as fars as 10k.

I know I didnt help on this question but I am appealing to anyone more inclined than we are on this field give us some Ideas.

Re: starting problems

sounds like either your injectors are leaking down and flooding the plugs, or your fuel system is loosing presure.

Thanks for the reply. I had another person suggest the same but when I go to the dealership, they say it dont show any code and there is nothing they can do about it. Another person suggested that the gas could be bleeding back into the tank due to lack of pressure. Now given all these Ideas, would you suggest I change the fuel pressure regulator or what would cause the injectors to leak down into the spark plugs?
