After having a good read through all the other threads on this, my problem seems to not quite fit the others.
Once every few dozen starts it simply refuses to actually start. Starter is cranking away no problem but the engine simply will not fire ( no spluttering of any kind just cranking away). Most of the time the engine will start on the 3rd or 4th attempt. Once in a while the damn thing really wont go however. Noticed the last time it did this that after cranking the hell out of it for over 30 secs continuously that here was no smell of fuel ( which I would expected after cranking the engine for so long without starting! ). After much shouting it eventually started up as though nothing was wrong. In addition to this on two occasions it has put the engine warning light on after sitting idling for about five mins but this generally goes out within a few hundred yards of driving. Hope someone can help as its driving me slowly crazy. |

Re: 51 reg Clio 1.2 16V starting problems (yes another one!)

Cheers for that as it confirms my suspicions of a fuelling related problem,
however... and forgive my ignorance...the vacumes? If someone can tell me what/where they are I'll be right on it |
