stickers

i've been thinking a lot lately, trying to figure out what to do with the red beast,....trying to finish its makeover untill it at least looks decent, then save up $$. Well, part of its makeover will be stickers, good idea? the reason i ask you guys is that, well.....i like this place, its all mixed cars, everyone drives something different, so i want everybody's view on stickers. I want to be represented as a true enthusiast, a tuner, in short.....a racer I look around the city and the surrounding areas and see all these hondas with nothing but fart cans and altezzas, but when i try to race them, they chicken out, i understand they're not ALL racers. I know some of you guys in here have stickers, i know i wont be putting anything extreme on the red beast, but something noticable, something like "injen" on the side window or fender, or of some degree that says i'm a racer, just a lil something different, ya know? i know i dont have any injen parts so i'll probably be puting a "weapon-r" or "megan racing" decals, what do you guys think? separating the racers from the non-racers is of concern, thanks for those with comments!

Re: stickers

First off, stickers are a major PITA to remove.
If you are going ot do anything, do it with vinyl.
It is 1000 times easy to remove.

Secondly, and this is personal opinion, I would not put any companies names/logos on a car unless you were truly sponsored to do so. Doing so does not say "racer," it says "racer wannabe."

That being said, if you want to jazz up your car, get something decorative (stripes, shapes, etc ...).

That is my 2 psi on the subject.

Re: stickers

I've admited it before, I used to Rice!
Okay I had a 1993 Eclipse and I riced it out too with stickers and shit so im not gonna bash.

Im not as pro as JeckNHyde so I think company stickers only if you actually have the parts installed. Like dont put "Greddy" unless you actually have greddy products installed.

I do agree with some tribal shit or some stripes and slashes. Ive seen Tribal decals on GTOs and they look damn good.

also you have to absolutely get a www.automotiveforums.com decal.

Re: stickers

Rice(er) your my hero.

Stickers only if you put vtach sticker on your toyota.

But seriously haveing a sticker dosent mean your a racer.
Now haveing hupcap spiners does.

But if you want to look like a racer heres a list of things to get....
-led washer cap thingys
- exhaust tip 6'' or more
- wing 70'' or more
- 5% tint so i cant see up in you window.. not windows only on the driver side window... cops wont get scared.
-Here we go... stickers.. it is ok to get ones to parts that you dont own or even a company that doesnt make anything for you brand of car.... the more the better
-unpainted body kit
- bumpin stero from k-mart

sorry i got carried away but if you put a little sticker on the back side window or....um....bottom of the back it souldnt look to stupid. Like a little TRD sticker would be ok. Don't go over board with them and you will be fine

But to get more people to notice your car to race i would say get some new rims, CF hood, and an exhaust..real exhaust not tip.

btw what mods do you have?

Re: stickers

ask any racer, any real racer. It doesnt matter if its 1 or 50, stickers make you a racer. Ricer if you want all the GTOs, Mustang GT's, Vettes, Camaros, Evos, STi's, SRT4's, Integras, Civics, and all the other mean street cars to take you seriously, you need stickers and lots of them. The more stickers you have, the more street cred you have. Its like when they used to put stamps on the planes in WWI and WWII that showed how many planes that pilot had taken down.

just get on ebay and go crazy.

Re: stickers

My Opinion

Never ever ever ever put manufacture stickers on your car unless they pay you in some sort of way and then onpy put a sticker big enough to get sponsorship and if they want biggerthey have to pay more...

Re: stickers

If you don't have the part, don't get the sticker/vinyl/whatever. Only do it if you have the part. Make sure they are put on tastefully. Don't just throw them on because you think they look cool and will make you look like a racer. The majority of the people I know that race don't have stickers at all. I have a set of sticker mods, two very small 'Carbonio' stickers on each rear quarter window, they came with my CAI.

If you get a 'Powered by Toyota' or 'Toyota Inside' or any sticker like that, I will personally come up to where you live and hurt you.

If done properly, stickers, vinyls, etc., can be ok and not to bad. Just like any visual modification, if it is done right, and is tasteful, then I see nothing wrong with it.

I was at a BMWCCA car show last night, and a guy with supercharged M5 had a bunch of little Mercedes Benz and Audi stickers like that, lined up like a kill list.

Re: stickers

Ha! My car had all kinds of ricey stickers when I got it. The underside of the hood still does. LOL

If you want to do decals, they should suit you/your car...

For example, see avatar. It is the only one I've ever seen in existence and I bought it that way. I've always liked turtles as well. Weird.
