Unhappy Driver's Side Mirror

Hey guys...some idiot ran into my Malibu and now I need to replace the
glass in my driver's side mirror. The body shop wants to charge me to
put in the entire assembly and paint it but Chevrolet says I can buy
just the glass with the black plastic housing for like $50.

Problem is I can't find a freaking thing about how to replace JUST the
glass with the black housing on my car.

Any ideas on how to do that? I think I'm going to try taking the whole
assembly off this weekend and seeing what I can take apart but any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Deborah

Re: Driver's Side Mirror

Hey Deb,

I just had to do that on my Subaru, different car I know, but I had to replace the whole housing along with the glass because the inside was quite intricate. If you have power mirrors, you might just have to replace the whole thing.

I should be able to get you the procedure. What model year is your vehicle?
