2003 bmw 330 xi?
I currently have a 2005 honda Accord 2dr coupe (v6 244hp). I took a 330 xi automatic out for a test ride 2wks ago and loved it! Thinking of doing a trade for a 2003 330 xi, any thoughts would be appreciated? I read of some troubles with the electriconics, and ignition on a bmw?

Re: 2003 bmw 330 xi?
The BMW 3-series is generally a great car. Most owners have little to no problems with them.
My advice is to test out a 330i before you buy unless you feel you really want or need the AWD. The RWD versions tend to be a bit better to drive, more reliable, and less expensive.

I live in Wisconsin and the winters can get kinda rough and since this will be my only car, AWD is pretty much a must!

Re: 2003 bmw 330 xi?
I've never heard anything bad about the 3 series in electronics. The ignition thing was just a general recal for the Bosch coils, I took mine in and didn't even have the bad coils, and mine is a 2004, so I don't know if an '03 would have them. But it is at the dealership and it did, it should have the ok ones now. Save for the need to change out the steering control arms at around 50k miles, I haven't heard about any major problems with teh E46, and I don't even think that one is a major one. I've driven in snow/ice/rain everything in my 325i, with no problems. Its really all about driver control. But if you feel you need the xi, go for it.
