Project Street GTR

this model was initally going to look like a firends GTR.

the wheels are the closest match I could find to his wheels and the mirrors are the same (off of the calsonic R32 GTR). The colour was to be gunmetal but the can I picked up from the gunmetal rack was actually Gunship Grey so I now have a Gunship grey GTR.

The wheels stick out a bit much from the guards front and back but I will leave the back as it gives it a street drag look. The fronts may be brought in (but will probably stay sticking out also)

test fit.

The original.

How many other people spend a day or two painting an engine farily well detailed and then glue the bonnet (hood) down?

Or is it just me that paints detail you know will never be seen because you know its there?

UPDATE:

The interior and engine is complete:

The exterior is due for a polish:

And here is the big guy that watches to make sure I don't muck up. He also stops the odd wayward part

well I just had a look at it today under natural light and will NOT be posting any more pics as it will be stripped right back down and re painted in a better color

It ended up looking soo dull and boring. Do tamyia do a metallic grey spray can?

Maybe salvage it as a military issue GT-R?

Sorry, man. Hard lesson learned about substituting paint colors! :o Sounds like material for the "hard way" thread.

Lightbulb

Can you find some Easy Off Oven Cleaner? It's a great substitute if you can't find the CSC.

Are the tires meant to stick out hardcore? That metallic looks pretty sweet, i reckon it'd go nice on like a 40 ford, thats actually built to look like an indestructable tank. Nice lookin skyine!:smoka:
