AC hissing sound

I have a 02 venture. There is a hissing sound coming out of my vents everytime the compressor turns on. It lasts for only a few seconds. It has been happening for about a month and the ac is still cold. Has anyone ever had this problem?

Re: AC hissing sound

My 2000 Venture sometimes hisses from the engine for a few minutes after shutting off the motor while running around with the a/c on, like it is letting out pressure or something. I'm no rocket scientist but you may want to make sure that your a/c cabin filter is clean and that nothing is blocking it, making a similar noise. Ours was stuffed full of leaves and crud one year and it was making a noise. Hope you fiquire it out, at least it works!

That's normal. It's from the air pump and is to be expected.
