Re: early 520

I didn't know that I liked the e12's until I rode with Peter Florance of First Fives in his modified 528i. His car is much, much quicker than I would have ever thought. Handles pretty good too. Much simpler than newer BMW's but VERY entertaining! I definitely see the family similarities between the e12 and my e34.

Talking Re: early 520

Things were good with the e34s which still had the M30 engine and lots with manual transmission. The e39 looked nice, but the extra complexity brought woes. I walked into a dealership and the service manager had an instrument cluster out of an e39 on the desk, it just went kaput, which was bad news because the car was well out of warranty. What was so wrong with mechnical speedos and odometers?
