fuel overflow
I've been having a problem lately where I am fueling my 98 Taurus SE and when the handle clicks off, I get a spray of gas out of the fuel neck. Its quite a bit, like maybe a cup or two. It has happened a different gas stations. At first, I thought it was the station pump and then when it happened at other stations I tried, it did the same thing. Anybody have any ideas? Is there a vent of some type that might be plugged that would cause this? Thanks for the help. Not a major issue, but iritating as I get gas on my shoe or pants.

Re: fuel overflow
Bent fuel neck or really really hot weather (100+) could do that.
Maybe a hole in the gas tank would cause an odd amount of backpressure. Also ethenol gas will do that in warm weather. |
