97 Deville (A/C Distribution)

I'm experiencing a problem with the A/c distribution or at least i think i am. For the past week or so, the a/c is not distributing the air through the vents that are facing me while i'm driving. Now i know that the distribution depends on the sensor in the dash and bashed on the sun or whatever is how the air is distributed but it's going on 2 weeks now and the air is only being distributed through the floor and windshield. Could this be a problem with the sensor in the dash? Please advise.

We can't figure it out. The person we bought it from says it never happened to him but it started the day after we bought it. does anyone have any info on this?? Summer is coming and I don't want heat I WANT A/C!!! Sorry i took this message to get my message in but I couldn't find anywhere to post a "new post" on this forum. Any help would be appreciated. I'd check the vacuum lines to the various mix doors first.

Check all the battery connections for corrosion. Check all accessible grounds. Check the battery cables themselves for bulges which would indicate corrosion under the insulation.
You may want check for computer codes. Turn the key to ON. Simultaneously press and hold down the OFF and WARMER buttons on the climate control. Once the codes start coming up on the dash display you can release the buttons, write down the codes, then post them back here.

Thanks very much. We've tried the battery cables, etc. but will check for the codes and post them back here.

O.K. We got quite a few codes! Here goes:
F11, F12, F13, F15, F30, F31, F40, F47, E47, E52.

One thing the original owner did that I didn't mention before was that he had a keyless entry with remote put in. My husband had taken it out though, thinking that could have been part of the problem (which obviously it isn't-I may be wrong) But it would sure be nice to be able to put it back in if it isn't part of the problem.

Really appreciate your help!

Are you sure it's a '93 and not '83?

Definately a '93. Why that question? Some kind of nastiness?

No nastiness. Those codes look like those from '80s models and not the OBDI codes I'm used to from my "93 Eldo. I thought it might have been a typo. No matter.

Re: 97 Deville (A/C Distribution)

I really don't know why this person chose to post there problem under my column. I truly do not appreciate this! Anyway, i found the problem that was causing my air not to circulate through the vents. One of the vacuum hose that connects the system under the hood near the accumulator had a whole in it thus causing the system to lose pressure. Ironically, this was also causing my parking brake to release when i put it into gear.
