Here we go again...

Another laptop containing personal information such as names, social security numbers, date of birth, and fingerprints is missing. This time from an IRS employee.

Re: Here we go again...

Wonder if it's time for a few class action lawsuits against these fools? I've read that some veteran's groups are already planning a few.

Too bad civilians can't be put in front of a firing squad and shot for incompetence.

They need to stop giving incompetent employees laptops with which they can transport data out of the office.

You'd think that if they realized that they were incompetent, they wouldn't have had the job in the first place

These are government workers we're talking about. And while there are plenty of superlative people working in the gov't, there are plenty of people that have been promoted well past their ability and education. I've met some of them.

Re: Here we go again...

Yeah, the VA employee has been fired, but it doesn't undo the potential damage caused by his breach of policy. It seems he was not authorized to take the data home, and he did it for 3 years without his supervisor's knowledge or permission. That is just some new kind of stupid, if you ask me.

One of the higher level officials in the VA has resigned over that mess.

You'd think, after the VA story broke, that knucklehead from the IRS would have been a LOT more careful with his laptop.
