can I make the gas pedal any harder

I know it sounds weird, but my cousin is driving BMW x5 for the last 4 years and got used to the gas pedal been very hard to push. I am trying to convince her that MDX is a better overall investment then another Bmer, but she is convinced that it will be impossible for her to relearn how to drive an SUV with the lighter gas pedals. I personally think it’s a bunch of bull, but willing to try to help her. Is it possible to make the gas pedal tougher to apply? I was going to find where is the main spring that provides the resistance and just replace it with a tougher one or just add another spring. Any suggestions?
