I have a 2005 CR-V SE, anyone know about any engine mods or intakes, and is the motor basically the same as the Acura RSX

Re: CR-V performance parts?

I have a 2005 ex crv and I just put in a K&N typhoon short ram air intake kit. Everything seems to be doing great. Put in about a week ago, and have already gained about 20hp!!!! I bought this from auto zone for $156.00 The only comlaint/irritation was that this kit didnt seem to fit right, mounting bracket didn't match up so we had to buy a bracket from home depot for like $2.00. Otherwise car is running better, faster, engine sounds bad ass. Good Luck

Re: CR-V performance parts?

K&N CAI isn't going to get you 20hp. 5 maybe.

Re: CR-V performance parts?

I was told that there is a supercharger available for the Element. I would bet that it would fit in the CR-V since they are essentially the same vehicle.

Hi,

In theory a supercharger made for the 2005 Element would work for the 2005 CR-V since they have nearly identical engines (both are supposedly detuned Prelude engines), but a problem that you could run into is the hood clearance and layout of the individual components. I believe that the Element may have a slightly smaller engine compartment than the CR-V...but I have not physically measured it to prove this.

Good luck.

Re: CR-V performance parts?

wait, don't those cr-v's have a K24? and since the 04+(maybe earlier, idk) has the same engine as the tsx(K24), should certain performance parts work on the cr-v that work on the tsx?(and yes i know that air intakes, and catbacks, down pipes, basically anything on intake or exhaust attatched to the exterior of the head) couldn't i basically use the internals and the valvetrain of the realtime tsx's? and couldnt the b20(from 03 and earlier if im not mistaken, probably am) use like the head off of a b18?

Did anybody else notice how GM seems to be really overhyping the new Camaro? I have a bad feeling about this...

Re: CR-V performance parts?

That should work in the way of engine back pressure and such, it would just depend on how differently the TSX and 05'+ CR-Vs are arranged under the hood.
