You just need to reprogram the key fob for the car again. Let me know if you need help finding the instructions on how to do this but the dealer will probably program the fob for you for free. As for the security light, probably has something to do with the frequency of the new BCM versus your old one.

Would you like me to go look up how to reprogram the fobs??
I have a 1999 Firebird owners manual here as I own one.

Re: bcm problems! Help!

The key fob I have appears not to be a factory key fob. I tried to reprogram it according to my owners manual and it did not work. Also, I got the old BCM they took out of my car and the number on it is 09353681 and I think that is the number of BCM for non-keyless entry. How can this be that I had keyless entry? The guy that worked on it told me my car has a aftermarket alarm system on it that I didnt even know I had. Help! I am a girl! They will rip me off!
