i keep burning alt belts....!!!
I've gone through 3 alt belts..... i cant figure out whats going on.... they were squeaking for about 3 weeks. I blew an alt about a week ago and the problem is still going on. almost getting worse. I used a straight edge to see if the pulley's were off alignment but they seem to be fine. Also it doesn't seem like they are doing anything funny when the belts squeak. Also i noticed that the alt belt is getting hot. And completely burned off twice I've got belts at advanced auto and auto-zone. and i heard that i need to get one from a dealer or its going to keep squeaking. But i don't have money to waste on belts every week. So if any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Re: i keep burning alt belts....!!!
Maybe you need to tighten the belt more, or maybe your alternator is messed up and is hard to turn burning up the belts

use OEM belts, they are much better, do you still have the heat shields on?
