Muffler Question
Hi I have an 86 2M4 with the V6 catback ehaust that has a huge hole in the muffler. The rest of the exhaust seems fine other than the muffler. Would anybody happen to know what kind of muffler that would be considered or even if you could buy it seperately. Everything Ive been looking at is the exhaust from the cat back. I just want to replace the muffler but cant figure out what type to look for. Thanks alot

Re: Muffler Question
In my experience I've only heard of the cat. back exhaust as a whole. I replaced mine two years ago with an Ocelot and saved my original GT exhaust tips and put them on the new exhaust.

Re: Muffler Question
Any muffler shop can supply you with a muffler. They usually go from the cat back because it seems like a nice place to add the new parts. If the pipe from the cat is still good and there is enough slack with the pipes, the shop shold be able to cut out the muffer and connect the parts, reducing their profit margin considerably.

Re: Muffler Question
eh the muffler shops i tried to go to did not have a muffler small enough to fit my GT, so i ended up ordering a catback system from West Coast Fieros, and had them put it on, and got some sweet stainless steel tips as well. The Spintech muffler they use sounds mean, i love it.
