ok, I have a laptop that has a wireless card on it and it also has the ethernet port its the only computer in the house. Ok so my question was if I get sprint dsl internet and a belkin wireless g router, And when I set up the router I connect it to the dsl modem and then the laptop through the ethernet port and once everything is good on the wired part and I can go on the internet while im wired to the router and modem but if I disconnect the laptop from the router and try to use the wireless card can I still get online even though there isn't a computer at the router wired? Or would I have to go with cable internet?

Re: Wireless Network Laptop question
......
wow i got lose. hook your modem to the router. there should be a slot with "cable" or "internet" above it. then, get another ethernet cable and plug that into one of, normally 4, slots and that goes into your comp. then whenever you unplug it and switch to wireless, your router will be receiving the internet from the modem. as for everything else on the router and setting it up. read the maual very carefully or not, but do follow it. it's easy and simple so there shouldnt be too much difficulty.

Cable internet has nothing to do with it, except a different type of modem, maybe do it if it's a better deal where you live?
