Just saw IT...

Yes, opening night, went to see it. If you're not sure what I mean by IT, I'm referring to The Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift. Before I go into review about the movie, let me set the scene first...

I pull into the movie theater parking lot, I see the vague shape of a Lotus Elise. As I get close I confirm it is but then on the side I see these ugly ass vinyls on the side and I knew I was in the right place. As I turn down the aisle I see a 2001ish Mustang with a hood scoop, body kit, the works. I find a parking spot and the vehicle in front of me is an MX3 with yes, more vinyls. As I walk into the movie theater I hear a fart can and look to my left and see of course, a Honda Civic flying through the parking lot for no reason.

Now to the movie...

It was surprisingly well done. I went into it expecting the worse and came out with a good opinion of it. There is alot of rice and not everything that they do makes sense. All in all though, it was a good movie and actually pretty intense. It actually keeps you on the edge of your seat because you never know when they'll crash. Good plot line, especially in comparison to the second. However, what they do to the Mustang at the end is a crime against humanity and I may lose sleep over it tonight.

Rating...

3 out of 5 stars. Not great, good plot, good action, better acting, but basis of it being about cars always helps. Id actually recomend it and as of now I feel it is the best of the three, but I did just see it so I will give it some time and watch the first one again to make the final decision.

P.S. Do they make a RWD Evo in Japan?

No, but I've heard of people crippling gearboxes to get them RWD.

you can take out the front drive shafts and plug the parts where they join to seal them off. making it RWD only. also you can get an adapter plate to fit a different gearbox with a RWD only output. but that requires re-mounting the engine to longitudinal layout.

Re: Just saw IT...

Why would you want an evo RWD? If you want a RWD car, get something else. Anyways, i wanna see the movie. I hope its better than the 2nd one.

I wouldnt but in the movie they are drifting with one which wouldnt work out to well with AWD. But then it also does burnouts and only the rear wheels are spinning. So I was wondering if the made a RWD in Japan.

And its MUCH better then the second.

Re: Just saw IT...

EVOs are 4-wheel drive everywhere. just to drift them like a RWD you need more power because of the 4WD torque-split so they make them RWD only to make drifting easier.

Thats what they must have used then b/c the Evo was def RWD. When they frst said they were drifting in an Evo I just figured it was another one of the things that dont make sense(like shiftng into 6th gear for racing).

Re: Just saw IT...

I thought it was about that too.

I watched that when I was 11 and I thought it would scare me, but all my cousins were getting stoned, so that's all I can really remember.

Not scary.
