91 Legacy, Flashing power light after starting car
About one in ten times, when I start my car, the "power" light flashes for about 8 seconds and then goes dark. The "power" light is on the dash, just below the gear display and is right next to the "manual" light. I checked the manual and it says that there is a problem with the automatic transmission and I should take it in to get looked at. But, the car is running smoothly, the ATF is at the right level and the light only flashes sporadically. Do you think this could just be a computer problem? Any suggestions for a course of action? Thanks-rachel

Re: 91 Legacy, Flashing power light after starting car
No, I don't think this could 'just be a computer problem'. My suggestion would be to take it in the same day as this happens to have the code read off the computer, that way it's still in the memory.
The computer only stores a limited number of codes at a time, so if you ignore them you'll lose the ones which the techs need to see to diagnose the real issue.

Rund the self-diagnostics for the trans computer.
Get over to Josh's homepage: http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/subaru.html click on 'notes and tips' then on 'trans related'. Nick |
