97 monte carlo starting problems
wife drove car today and when she tried to start all she got was a clidking noise, called me jumped car with cables and started but when we got home wouldn't start again all i get is a clicking noise. checked all terminals and have good conections. oh ya 3.1 litre need some help, is it the starter but she shouldn't start with cables if starter is shot, maybe i am wrong but feel its a bad ground somewhere, starter itself looks clean and conections look ok any help is much appreciated

Re: 97 monte carlo starting problems
DId you actually remove the cable from the battery or just do an external inspection. Corrosion can get between the side post and the cable with no external signs. If you removed the cables during inspection, then I'd say your starter is bad. The additional amperage/voltage from the jumper cables was enough to overcome the bad spot on the starter.
