I drive a 94 SC2... now if i were to swap out the engine, are there any out there larger than a 1.9 dohc that would comfortably fit?

Re: Engine swap?
the 1.9 SOHC and DOHC engines are the only ones designed to fit the Saturn engine bay, i have seen pictures of a small handful of swaps before including a unfinished ECOTEC, a nicely done RWD V8, and horible GM 3800 deathtrap. of course, all work was 100% custom.

Re: Engine swap?
well what do you wanna accomplish? my guess is you wanna go fast in which case you can pull off with the dohc motor. 124 hp is pathetic but theres plenty of mods out there to get it up to around 150-160 with full bolt ons. if i were you i'd totally ditch the naturally aspirated route and buy a turbo kit. running 6-8 psi will help you run deep in the 14's. pretty much these cars and motors were not designed to go fast or make power so they are very weak and very limitted. unless you wanna rebuild that dohc completely with forged pistons and learn how to tune. even then best your gonna see is low 13's.
