gas leak....i think.

well obviously it was leaking gas but it may have been my fault. is a car likely to leak some gas if you top it off? as in, the pump shuts off then you keep pumping anyway till you get it completely filled? i know..not smart, worse gas mileage and...yea. but i did it anyway, sue me. lol. anyway, is that likely to happen if you top it off or do i have a problem? from what i can tell it only leaked right after i topped it off, i dont think its doing it anymore. thanks

Re: gas leak....i think.

Well I always fill my gas tank all the way.. and I dont get a leak..

If you do get a leak from filling up your gas tank fully then you have a leak at the top of the gas tank.. and a leak anywhere in the tank isnt good cause gas evaporates quickly and you're losing gas as it is with the damn leak.. just use some quick cement after you found the leak..

Re: gas leak....i think.

A tank shouldn't leak, no matter how much you over do it. It should have spit back up the filler neck if it were that overfilled.

So either it's leaking from the pump/sending unit gasket, or there's a hole.

Cheesebook (Quick) hijakced and was giving me a rough time in one of my threads, and somewhere along the line someone called Rally Nacho Libre, which I though meant Cheese & Book. So... since he (Quick) was trying to annoying me, and was, and I hate typing "Quicksilver" (especially since his maro is blue) and I get a kick out of "Cheese Book" that's what I decided his AF nickname should be... that is, until someone comes up with a better one.
