Won't start update

Hey, it's me again, with the 88 Civic that won't start. Bad news is it hasn't started, good news is I've narrowed the problem down. I replaced the coil and igniter. I replaced the plugs as I said. There's nothing coming up as far as ECU codes. I think the main relay is good cause the fuel pump comes on. I still am not getting spark! Could a cap and rotor be causing this mayhem, or do you guys think it's the distributor itself, or something else entirely? I'm stumped and frustrated.
Thanks.
-J

Re: Won't start update

Just go to the junkyard and let them throw on a dizzy and see if that solves the problem. If it does then either pick one up from the yard or buy a new one from like distributor king or something... if you really care about getting a new one.

replace the cap and rotor. the terminals can get so worn that they don't contact each other enough to transfer the spark. You are SURE that the coil and ignitor you put in there were good and that you installed them RIGHT? you put the little spring back in the coil and you put all the wires in the right spot (inside the distributor)? Check your alternator fuse and your main fuses in the engine bay. Check your grounds to make sure they are all connected and the contact surfaces are clean (sand them all down with 80 grit to make sure).
