bad strut?

latley ive been having it where when i hit a bump i get a very defined clunking noise coming from my right rear and it seems like when i hit the bump it wants to let the back end of the car wash out almost like it was rear wheel drive. no i dont have a bowling ball rolling around in my trunk. i was wondering if this could possibly be a strut thats bottoming out but i dont really know much about suspension so im not sure. any help or guesses would be appreciated.

Re: bad strut?

IT's most likely a strut or the upper strut mount. It's allowing too much lateral motion and causing your irratic handling. It could be the alignment is out of spec also.
