Re: new to isuzus
Troopers are tough, well-built rigs. Most people who buy one end up owning more than one when all is said and done. I have owned two myself ... a '92 and an '02. They do, however, have their quirks. The 2002's are supposed to have a new piston design that reduces/eliminates an oil consumption problem seen on earlier year models. If the PCV valve is a "screw-in" type valve, then you know you have the redesigned pistons. The suspension on these rigs can be a little squishy. I replaced the stock rubber sway bar bushing with poly bushings (total of $20), and I replaced the stock shocks with Rancho 9000's (9-position adjustable shocks). Again, most people who own one Trooper find themselves willing to buy another one. HTH ... Fred.
