Windshield Fit
I have a 900 Accord DX and the widshield cracked. Will a 93 windshield fit as I think the body styles are about the same?

Re: Windshield Fit
Don't know the answer. 90 and 93 are different gens, I believe. Question - do you have comprehensive insurance? If so, it may cover a replacement windshield, with no deductible.

Re: Windshield Fit
well, I just have liability. I don't know if comp. is covered or not but I figured that it would need to be chipped by a rock thrown up from another car or something like that. There isn';t any mark at all. It just started cracking and away it went. But when you look for body parts they're usually listed 90-93 so I thought maybe the window frame was the same.

Re: Windshield Fit
Ok - you then might be OK with a '90. (The isurance, BTW is for a crack for whatever reason, but I don't know if it's true in all states, and it certainly isn't included in liability only, of course).
It's not really a DIY job to install, IMHO. A special adhesive is used, and if you flub it, you're going to get wet feet every time it rains. Unlike older US models, it's not set into a rubber molding all the way round - it's actually glued flat to the window frame. Maybe a local windshield installer will let you supply the windsheld and they will fit it (for a fee, of course). |
