Re: pretty simple question.
The small one is the Ignition Control Module or "Igniter" (on bottom) and the other thing is that is bigger is the Coil (on top).

Re: pretty simple question.
It was a recall on the stock engine, not his b16, and even if it was, dealership wont touch it..I know they sure as hell wouldnt touch my car.

Re: pretty simple question.
just go to the junk yard and get one. i had a spare one in my car knowing they where a problem and when it fried i changed it on the side of the highway. took 20min. plus if it fits in your pocket at the junk yard, its free

Re: pretty simple question.
of course they said that. but if they keep the distributors on the engines and dont take them off then just go out to the yard and disasemble it yourself.
it's probably the only way to get one. |

All he has to do is go in and tell them his ignitor went out and that it needs a new one because it was recalled. They'll have to change it....it goes by the car, not the engine.

Re: pretty simple question.
well i replaced it with a new one. well used but sapposed to work from the local shop. i put it in and no luck. i know the coil works because i have the one from a running b16 in. i just took it out myself after i turned the car off. maybe the one is bad that they gave me. i am going to try my friends ignitor real quik. i will let you know how it goes. and thatnks for the help
