1997 SE Steering Wheel

The steering wheel on my 1997 SE always seems to be turned to the left when the wheels are straight. This causes a small problem when driving. Feels like I am fighting the steering wheel. I had an alignment done about 6 months ago and that did not fix the problem.

Re: 1997 SE Steering Wheel

Have you tried rotating the tires, front to back, back to front and then see what it does. I did not believe it but I helped a fellow local GTP owner out last month. He spent a lot of money on front end stuff and wheel alignment. What we found out is one of his nice V rated tires developed what is called radial pull which was causing a pull to the right. Since the tires were replaced it tracks straight. Just an inexpensive suggestion but worth trying.

Re: 1997 SE Steering Wheel

I have my tires rotated on a regular basis. Seems like this is the case no matter how many times I have them rotated. Can you describe what radial pull it please?

It is a phenomenom with radial tires and simply one possible problem out of several if the alignment is good. See link below for description and possible corrective action.
