Duplicolor Question

i was wondering...how does duplicolor compare to tamyia ts paints? also is tamiy primer compatible with duplicolor, and is duplicolor clear just as good as ts 13? im asking because i am painting a supra right now, which is primed with tamiya white primer, i plan on using duplicolor super red 2, and clear coating with duplicolor clear or possibly ts 13, which should i use?

Re: Duplicolor Question

In my humble experience: don't mix.
I've had really bad results when spraying different marks. I once tested some MOTIP clear over tamiya metalic red and it was OK. Then i did MOTIP clear over tamiya aluminium and the clear dissolved the paint and etched trough the primer into the plastic. Took me so long to clean that up. Use same type of primer, paint and clear and you'll be save. The tamiya pirmer should be good for the duplicolour.. but i would bet my head on it.
What i have experienced is that marks like MOTIP and DUPLICOLOUR are slightly inferiour to tamiya, but MUCH cheaper. And if you take you're time with polishing the duplicolour, you'll have a startling paintjob. Just.. use the same brand for paint and clear... you won't regret it.

Re: Duplicolor Question

in my personaly experience they both work fine together as long as you don't spray heavy wet coats (VERY heavy coats)
